Tales From the Saddle

You know those nights where you are a bit bored and simultaneously clicking away on the internet and watching The Man from Snowy River (again)? And you get to the scene where there is that cracking horse chase off the hill (or maybe it’s a cliff, it’s steep enough), and then ten minutes later you stumble across a website listing horse riding holidays? So you book into a holiday that you think will let you be the Man from Snowy River? Ok, so maybe that’s just me……

The extraordinary relationship between humans and the horse has been running since before the birth of Christ. Indeed, there is evidence our domestication of horses goes as far back as 3500 BC. And ever since we recognised the utilitarian value of the horse, there has been the horseshoe. The use of horseshoes has become an almost unquestioned tradition. Humans have been nailing shoes onto horses’ hooves for well over a thousand years. Who can remember back to a time otherwise?

In our crazy busy lives, it’s easy to forget the power of simplicity. We yearn to just saddle up and go for a ride in a magical place. Horse riding is a powerful cure for an overworked mind, a tired soul and a dormant spirit. We need an all-important RESET and RECHARGE. Australian Horse Adventures, our trail riding business, promise to provide you with the feeling of contentment and joy and to redirect your perspectives by looking after your every little thing on your horse riding holiday so you can just savour and enjoy: Gorgeous safe, fit and educated horses. All you need to do – is come and ride with us. It’s horse time that reminds us fulfillment isn’t felt in all the chaos and goal kicking in our careers and lives. We are blessed at Australian Horse Adventures to have an extraordinary team of horses in our operation. We have a core group, the “A team” who have been with us since they were young, or were bred by us. They have clocked up thousands of kilometres under saddle with us (trail riding, endurance and stock work) and with whom our whole adventure business evolved. Then joining them, is our team of preloved horses. We are proud and delighted to acquire “hand me down” horses. Usually these horses belonged to friends, who sought a good home and feel their horse would suit a career in tourism. It’s also part of our commitment to minimal impact on the environment. With so much wastage in the horse industry it's important to our ethos and be conscious of how we can make a difference. Re-cycling horses feels right to us. So what do we look for in a horse to join our team? If you check out our website or social media photos you will see we are big fans of Arabian horses. They are stunning horses to look at and so photogenic. They are also much more than a pretty face. Intelligence is high on our priority list. When we work with a horse, we want them to have a good dose of “horse sense”. We encourage them to problem solve and make wise decisions. The obstacle course, our bush trails and challenges we create, give us the opportunity to assess if the horses can think through the tasks. To do this, we pay close attention to ensure every request we make when training is understood, but we are also respectful of what each horse can offer. We focus on patience, trust and respect. Experience: The less experienced guests we have, the more experienced horse we partner them up with. “Green” riders are teamed up with our “been there, done that” horses. Personality: Our horses are busting with personality. We look for a horse with personality and let it shine. As trainers and guides we get to know them intimately so that we can read their minds and they need to be able to read ours or respond to our cues. Our horses have their own biographies that describe each horse perfectly. Guests can read through these at the tour induction to get a feel for the individual personalities of our team. We then aim to match horses and guests based on compatible personalities. It makes for a great partnership and a memorable holiday for our guests. Conformation: We look for a balanced horse – it’s the one secret to lifelong soundness and maximum performance. We are asking our team to work for years in training, competition and trail riding, they must be able to withstand the concussion, the distances and demands. Our ultimate challenge is to work with each horse as an individual and recognise what is balance and soundness for each one. With our hoof fetish as hoof care educators, good, strong, healthy, balanced hooves and surefooted horses are super important to us. We look for good movers, who are efficient with their energy and comfortable to ride. Attitude: Do they want to work with us? And can they work together as a team? It’s the question we ask the horse through observation. The horses in our operation have an amazing work ethic because they enjoy what they do, they love a job, they are willing, courageous, fiercely independent, and fun, they embrace the fitness training and line up in the queue, day after day to join us at work. They build their strength and endurance to be able to take our guests on epic adventures week after week. “A horse is a horse of course” Mr Ed When work finishes, the horses get to do their thing. They live together a herd in a big paddock, they have access to food and water, they roll, they snooze, they get dirty, they are without rugs, without shoes. They are free to go feral. And this works for us and for them. Success with our team lies in letting them be horses and building partnerships not slaves. And it shows with a team who are willing, happy and responsive. We are in constant admiration for what they will do for us. They are superstars. There is no mountain too high, no river too wide, no challenge to tough for our horses. They are what makes Australian Horse Adventures so special and our guests reviews so favourable.

I have ridden many times with Australian Horse Adventures but this was the first time at Junction Farm with the new owners, Marcus and Ellie doing the Special Education and Trail Tour, which was absolutely fantastic. There’s a lot of focus on working with your horse and your riding skills. I found out the answers to two things that have plagued me for decades:

1. why can’t I keep my lower leg back, with heel down; and

2. there’s something wrong with my hands but no one has ever been able to explain what I’m doing wrong, let alone how to correct it .

I also discovered why it is very rare for me to ever fall off.

The tour is just fantastic. You work in pairs receiving guidance on ground work, arena work and on the mechanical horse. In between times you have wonderful trail rides around Junction Farm. It’s all about horsemanship and a good riding seat so you can relax and enjoy riding. Nothing is rushed.

Ellie goes above and beyond the call of duty giving explanations to any questions, even adding to it the next day having talking it all through with Marcus. I felt privileged having what seems to be unlimited guidance from a true expert. The mechanical horse, Risby lets you know exactly what you’re doing wrong, Ellie tells you how to fix it and Risby explains whether you’ve achieved it or not.

It’s the first time in decades I have felt a desire to train a young horse again or even pursue one day eventing. Whether I do or not doesn’t matter because the riding tips are just as relevant to trail rides. I will be a better rider and more importantly I will look better in the photographs! One of my friends (who I believe had never jumped before) was popping over logs in the paddocks.

Their other secret weapons are Keegan (who works with the group every day and was formerly a tour guide and knows plenty about the area and Tasmania )and Leanne who does admin and bookings but is also a master baker and there’s something new every day! Food and wines as usual were first class. Love love love love loved it.

SARAH COLEMAN
"It really was an amazing holiday/challenge! For me, a little bit life changing I would say! Jen and Jeremy were just the loveliest people. So I got a chance to re-live a childhood dream in a way, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to do it.”"

Julie Horse
“Dear Jen and Jeremy, I wish to thank you both for the excellent adventure you allowed me to be part of. Every aspect of the tour was presented with attention to detail; whilst remaining personalized, genuine and above all, professional. You both managed to include an extensive list of activities within a relaxed manner. Special points were Bonnie Inn, an adventure in itself! Arriving to the destinations and the horses are saddled, booted and relaxed and neither of you showed signs that you had already fed, brushed, transported and prepared 9 x horses. I would imagine you had already done a day’s work before our day had begun. Let alone knowing that routine also had to be reversed at the end of a long day. Mr Squiggle, it was a privilege to ride a seasoned Endurance horse. Food, company, beer (available when ever my feet touched the ground). Transportation, generosity, photos…….. So-on and so forth………………the list keeps on going.”

Horse Mountain
“The Tassie Tiger Trail has got to be the best ride out there! 5 days riding in beautiful Tasmania with gentle, fit and well trained horses to take you up mountains, along the beach and everywhere in between. Jen and Jeremy and their team of horses were an absolute pleasure to spend time with – i will absolutely be back!”

JULIE KERR
"We experienced on our Tassie ride everything from blue sky beach riding to
snow blizzards at the top of the mountain ranges. Jen, Jeremy and their
amazing horses made sure our adventure was more than we could ever have
imagined!"

Charlotte Horse
“Just lovely – wonderful stories and kind hospitality from our hosts. Moonlight is the best horse I have ever ridden – like a butterfly to ride. Jeremey gave me lots of wonderful training tips to implement at home. My favourite day was definitely the beach ride – been a life long dream and did not disappoint.”

Mel-Fairbanks
‘I absolutely loved my ride in the Barossa Valley. Jen and Jeremy were such wonderful hosts and their well behaved string of horses are an absolute credit to them. The accommodation was very clean and cosy, and all the meals were fantastic, and the wine too! Jeremy and Jen cooked delicious food, and the pizza night at Ros and Peter’s was great too. My favourite day was definitely riding along the mountain ranges to lunch at Grant Burge Winery. My dear horse, Jabberwocky, was a dream to ride. I loved every bit of it!’

Christine Kerr
‘What a wonderful five days we had with Jen, Jeremy and Roz. We were so spoiled to have a whole ride to ourselves, as we were eight riders, all friends. We chose this ride to celebrate our wonderful friend Jude’s 85th birthday. We had the most fantastic time, travelling through the amazing forest, vineyards, steep hilly country and fire trails through the bush areas. Jeremy and Roz were our guides while on horseback and nothing was ever a problem. The horses were wonderful, all endurance trained, so responsive and forward. Everyone was suited well to their horse. I rode the beautiful, grey mare, Moonlight (Moo), a sensitive little lady. Off the horse, Jen looked after us so well. Our horses were all ready for us every morning, lunch brought out to us on the days we didn’t stop near civilisation, and then at the end of every day, Jen was there to greet us and help put the horses to bed'

JILL GIBSON
‘Riding through the grape vines of the Barossa Valley, up and down the many hills, and enjoying the spectacular views was just amazing. I thought it was the best way to see the Barossa Valley. You see so much more. I love the old eucalyptus trees, and even better the view between Ruby’s ears when she pricks them and looks around at the sights. Jen and Jeremy are great guides and hosts this why I wanted to do the Grape Horse Adventure. I was going to do Jen and Jeremy’s Tassie Tiger Trail again but decided to give this ride a try instead, and sure enough it was everything that I imagined. I’ve said goodbye to Ruby twice before, not sure if I would see her again, and I am so blessed that I did. She’s a trooper.’

MAX & PAM GOLDSMITH
‘We loved this ride – the absolutely superb horses, the great company of guests, the outstanding gourmet food and wine and the constant care and support from Jeremy and Jen. The countryside we rode through was incredible and those amazing horses showed they can take us anywhere. We will definitely ride with them again! …and did we mention the stunning wines!’

SUSANNA BROWN
‘This ride was so much more than I’d hoped it would be. I came on my own, but felt completely part of the group – all friendly, inspiring and interesting women. Jen and Jeremy took care of us like we were family, and have created a diverse and awesome itinerary not just of great riding, but of local food and wine experiences and meeting local people. And Jabberwocky was my beautiful, willing, four-legged partner every day!’

JANELLE COLEMAN
‘My first Globetrotting experience has made me hungry for more. As a person who has owned horses most of my life I have finally found the next best thing to riding my own horses. I won’t risk any of the standard horse riding tour companies as I have been disappointed in the past. I trust Globetrotting to ensure that all their rides provide the highest standard of horses in terms of fitness and temperament and hosts who are professional, experienced, and treat both horses and clients as a priority. I’m so glad I finally did it!!’

JOYLEEN MCNULTY
‘Don’t miss the Grape Horse Adventure! The most beautifully trained horses well matched to your riding skills, and a chance to learn more about these beautiful endurance horses. The food and wine experience was exceptional and you’ll have the two most hospitable hosts. You will feel very much at home in this wonderful country setting. Thank you, Jen and Jeremy, for a memorable week!’

ANNIE KILGOUR
‘A truly amazing ride! Our hosts, Jen and Jeremy, were fabulous, their horses were amazing, the scenery was breathtaking, the food and wine were oh so good, what more could you ask for! This ride has it all. Enjoyed every minute and would go again tomorrow!’

SHERRI HAZZARD
‘Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Jen and Jeremy and the Globetrotting team for hosting such a wonderful holiday on The Grape Horse Adventure in the Barossa Valley. It simply was amazing! It was a privilege to ride such beautiful horses. The scenery was spectacular, as was the food and wine. We had a fabulous group of people and I learnt so much about natural horsemanship. I hope to join the team on the Tassie Tiger Trail in the future.’

BENADIE WESTWOOD
‘I had an amazing ride and I thoroughly enjoyed everything that was on offer. Wonderful horses, incredible scenery, a lovely group of riders and excellent service. Bonney’s Inn was fantastic and Teresa made us feel right at home. Jen and Jeremy are amazing – they opened their home to us and were very knowledgeable about the area we were riding in and the local heritage. I had the pleasure of riding Opal and Zameer, two incredibly well trained, good-natured horses. They are a credit to Jen and Jeremy. I loved riding through the beautiful forest and seeing the sights that Tassie has to offer, as well as the amazing beach ride – a beautiful day topped off with a canter along a perfect beach. I had such an fantastic holiday and would be happy to ride with Jen and Jeremy again.’

ROBYN MURRAY
‘The Tassie Tiger Trail was great. Every day was different and the scenery was spectacular. My horse Ruby was a good ride. She was definitely the head mare! Jeremy and Jen were friendly, interesting and full of horse knowledge. They made everyone feel welcome into their life. Our host Theresa was wonderful and very friendly, and cooked fantastic food for us. I would definitely recommend this ride.’

MAVIS ORR
‘This is an awesome experience for horse riders. The horses are well trained and love their job, the hosts are top notch and the accommodation is five star. I was apprehensive at the beginning, but quickly got over that when I saw the professional way this ride is conducted. Jeremy and Jen are lovely people and lots of fun. Teresa looked after all of us so well at our accommodation. I rode Basheer and I loved that little horse. The beach ride was the best, but all of the other rides were great, too. Give it a go – you won’t be disappointed!’

SHARON PALMER
‘We had an amazing time on the Tassie Tiger Trail – we cannot speak highly enough of Jen and Jeremy. They were amazing hosts, they made us feel so very welcome right from the first day. I was given the pleasure of riding Basheer, who was the perfect fit for me. Learning about natural horsemanship and how to bond with the horses with groundwork was enlightening and a great experience. The daily adventures on the bush trails were so much fun, and the visits to the salmon farm and Bakers Beach were particular highlights. Bonney’s Inn, where we stayed each night, was such a lovely old building, done up very comfortably. Theresa, our host there, kept us fed with amazing dinners and desserts. The time went so fast, and I’m now back at work wishing I could have done this trek all over again. We will definitely be looking at another trek soon. This holiday fulfilled a bucket list dream for me.’

JANET LEHMANN
"Sal and I had a wonderful holiday. Jen and Jeremy are great hosts and the horses were a pleasure to ride. Riding in the cool of Tassie was very different from our hills and spinifex."

PENNY WEBSTER
‘Jeremy and Jen are kind and gracious hosts. I felt completely confident and comfortable with them both. Moo, my six year old Arab mare, was perfect. She was super sensitive, which is just what I like, and very easy to ride. Her saddle was super comfortable, too. I loved riding at the river and the beach, as well as the groundwork. Jeremy taught me a completely different approach to riding. Jen and Jeremy’s food was terrific and the lunches on the hoof were fabulous, too. I liked that massages were available and it was fantastic that we were able to do a yoga class on Sunday morning (everyone came!). I would definitely recommend this ride.’

ARIANE PICKERING
‘Riding through the Tasmanian wilderness, or up steep mountain tracks, or cantering along an endless stretch of beach on a beautifully trained, fit, willing, bitless and barefoot Arabian – it is hard to imagine a more perfect ride. Add to that gourmet experiences of Tasmania’s wonderful produce, and comfortable beds with your own ensuite in a quirky B&B that serves the best breakfasts ever. Top it off with wonderful hosts Jen and Jeremy, and you’ve got it all. Can’t wait to do the next one!’

JANE PINK
‘The Tassie ride was a very special and emotional one for me, as I sadly lost my best friend and soul mate Maccy (Moo Bear) three weeks prior. It was the most difficult time saying goodbye to the most loving and forgiving horse. The weather in Tassie was all over the place, but I loved every second. My faithful steed was Moonlight, nicknamed Moo. We connected straight away and she was absolutely gorgeous. Our hosts Jeremy, Jen and Matilda were so kind, caring and understanding. They treated us like family and made us feel so confident and relaxed. The rides were spectacular, especially going on the beach and having the freedom to just relax and enjoy such beauty… I couldn’t stop smiling and just feeling at peace. I’m so looking forward to my next ride and hopefully heading back to Tassie. I want to thank you all so much for these rides – they have made an enormous impact on my life and I will continue to spread my wings.’

ANNI CONN
‘This ride was SOOOOO great! We had a truly fantastic time. I could write an essay about how good it was and why, how safe and professional Jen and Jeremy are, how utterly outstanding their horses are (I rode Gem, who was just delightful and a real sweetie) and how beautiful and exhilarating the rides were. Quite simply, everything was perfect and I have nothing to report other than that the trip matched my expectations (which were extremely high!) and I can’t wait to go again! You girls (and guys) at Globetrotting are so fantastically thorough and helpful and provide a spot-on, five star service from start to finish, so everything was easy from go to whoa. A bit too easy, I think, as now the sky is the limit as to where I go next with Globetrotting!’

BARBARA ONEGIN-WARD
‘I had not ridden for nine years and was unsure how I would feel after my ride on day one. Opal, my trusty, surefooted steed, was a perfect choice for me and was very easy to ride. The saddle was extremely comfortable and, after five days, let alone one, I can thankfully say I did not experience any stiffness associated with being saddle-sore. Every day was wonderful, but the highlights would have to be riding up to the Great Western Tiers mountain range – incredible scenery – and the beach ride in Narawntapu National Park, with fresh oysters, cold drinks and potato chips awaiting our return to the starting point of the trail. I can’t speak highly enough of Jen and Jeremy’s level of service, knowledge of the environment and hospitality – they contributed to making the trip a wonderful experience. This trip was excellent value for money and above my expectations.’

KATE JOINER
"The Grape Horse Adventure was excellent. Jeremy and Jen have created a well thought-through itinerary which provides great entertainment and experiences. Their horsemanship is outstanding and they have a wonderful collection of horses, catering to all types of riding abilities."

JESSICA MALCOM
"Mum and I had the most amazing escape to the Barossa Valley with Jen and Jeremy. They were the greatest hosts, looking after us as we rode their prize-winning endurance horses around the stunning vineyards, sampling all the local fare! My highlights would have to be galloping Princess Tikka through the magic pine forests and enjoying some amazing views, food and wine with a great bunch of people!"

JENNIFER JOINER
"The perfect ride… beautiful scenery, great horses, wonderful food and copious amounts of wine. Jeremy and Jen were very committed to good horsemanship with lots of tips and advice for novice riders, while still managing to challenge the more experienced riders in the group. We had such a good time that we are exploring how we squeeze in the Tassie Tiger Trail with Jeremy and Jen next year!"

AVA PELLIZZARI
"Nothing is too much trouble on this ride. Jeremy and Jen’s hospitality is exemplary. The scenery is beautiful. I loved the accommodation. All meals and catering were superb – especially eating the most amazing oysters, straight off the rocks, after our beach ride. Above and beyond any oyster I’ve ever tasted!
The horses are certainly well educated in their chosen environment, well behaved and responsive. I thought the way Jeremy showed us how to understand our horse and vice versa on the ground before getting on their backs was extremely important. Then having us do the obstacle course together was terrific, so much fun! I rode the lovely Ruby. What a horse, very easy to manage. I think everyone who rides Ruby wants to take her home.
If you like good food and wine, go to Tasmania."

JILL GIBSON
"Jen and Jeremy are great people – they made me feel very welcome, the food was to die for and plentiful. I love their house and property, the horses are great and I’ve ridden many horses on different adventure rides."

CASSIE ROWE
"I had the time of my life! Firstly, I have never met more beautiful people than Jen and Jeremy. I was blown away by how warm and friendly they are, not to mention how incredible they were at teaching us how to be natural horsemen! Their skills are evident and they have a clear bond with the horses. I was lucky enough to have Piccolo, who was a stunner and lots of fun, and I’m having such withdrawals – I have literally thought of nothing else since returning home other than how I can get back there! The scenery was breathtaking every day, and we did such interesting rides, like nothing I have done before. We all loved the accommodation with Theresa – she was just lovely, and the food was delicious!
The group I went with felt like family after five days together. We have stayed in touch after our shared experience and I look forward to doing another trip again soon. I can’t speak highly enough of this ride!"

KIM BOAST
"OMG it was heaven!
What was best, you ask?
Beautifully trained horses – I LOVED learning the art of natural horsemanship, then putting our skills to test through the obstacle course! My horse, Piccolo, took it all in his stride – what a champ.
The Tassie food trail – strawberries, cheese, salmon, chocolate, honey & wine – what more could you want but the most awesome beach ride finished up with freshly shucked oysters!
The mountain ride with the most incredible views, topped off by a wedge-tailed eagle appearing out of the scrub right in front of us – what a majestic creature, and how lucky were we!
The beautiful old bush tracks, visiting McLachlan Studios – stunning handmade jewellery and sculptures.
I simply cannot choose, as every day was different and just as awesome! Riding in pouring rain didn’t even put a dent in it – it was all so much fun. Jen and Jeremy worked hard to make our whole experience interesting, exciting, fun, relaxed, pampered and truly Tasmanian.
I cannot wait for my next adventure with Globetrotting – you really know how to put a horse riding holiday with all the bells and whistles together!"

SUSANNA BROWN
"Another brilliant five days of riding with Jen and Jeremy and their A team of happy horses. I rode Moo, and she was great – responsive and energetic. And on the last day I had the chance to ride Jabberwocky, who I rode on the Grape Horse Adventure earlier this year. Jeremy and Jen were again incredibly patient, cheerful, helpful, and generous with us as guests in their home, and provided wonderful meals. The variety in this ride is a standout, from secret narrow trails through native forest, wide tracks through farmland, the long stretch of pristine beach at Narawntapu National Park, and climbing up the steep rocky scree to the summit of the Great Western Tiers to the most amazing view. Great food, great conversation, great companions. Just do it!"

SIMONE LOCKHART
"We loved every second of the Tassie Tiger Trail and I fell totally in love with my super handsome purebred Arab, Colty. The highlight of the trip for us was the beach ride. There is nothing more exhilarating than cantering along a beach with windswept hair (and a windswept mane!) tasting the salty spray of the waves as hooves pound through the water. Thanks to Jeremy and Jen for going out of their way to make the trip so incredible. It was truly ‘h-awesome’."

DEBORAH STEELE
"The Tassie Tiger Trail is the perfect way to get back in the saddle for people who have not done much horse riding in recent years. Over five days you establish a rapport with your horse and build up your confidence while also enjoying the beautiful scenery of northern Tasmania and some great foodie experiences. The horses are highly trained and highly responsive. The hosts – Jeremy and Jen – are former endurance riders and two of the nicest people you would meet anywhere. Their enthusiasm, positivity and sense of humour were contagious and gave everyone a sense of joie de vivre."

Jen and Jeremy
Jen and Jeremy were, as always, amazing in their hospitality, the knowledge of the area and their level of service is really the benchmark to beat. Cannot speak more highly of these two wonderful people who are devoted to their horses, the guests and go out of their way to make sure your trip will be filled with the most amazing memories.

FIONA LOGAN
"I had the most amazing time on the Tassie Tiger Trail. Jeremy and Jen left no stone unturned, from selecting our horses and making sure we all understood how to control and enjoy them to feeding us and showing us the best time. I would highly recommend this ride to all levels of riders. I absolutely adored my horse Ruby – I so wish I could have taken her home. I would go back in a heartbeat."

MELISSA MUDGE
"This is the most amazing way to experience Tasmania on well trained, beautiful horses. I would recommend it to anyone who loves horses and exploring. The hosts, Jen and Jeremy, are the loveliest couple I have ever met. They perfectly matched me with Moo, who was one of the most soft and responsive horses I have ever ridden. I had the time of my life and hope to join Jen, Jeremy and Moo on the Grape Horse Adventure in the future."

SHELLIE CONWAY
"Jen and Jeremy are delightful! Their love and joy for horses and what they do is obvious and contagious. Knowledgeable, caring and always mindful of safety for horses and riders, they ensured we had the best experience of natural horsemanship, the Tasmanian landscape and hospitality. My horse, Mr Squiggle, was a true gentleman. Beautiful, well mannered, gentle, and exceptionally well trained. As an endurance horse, he was more than up to the task – forward moving and fun to ride. The weather was sensational! Clear skies and warmer than expected. The scenery was stunning, as was the village of Deloraine where we stayed. I met a bunch of fabulous women and as a group we bonded easily. Climbing the Western Tiers, riding along the coastline and visiting the many artisanal food and craft businesses were just some of the highlights. Thank you Jen and Jeremy and thank you Globetrotting. I’ll be booking my next ride very soon!"

ROBYN ANNAND
"This was our first Globetrotting experience and it couldn’t have been better. Jen and Jeremy made us all so welcome and our horses were so well trained and sure-footed. We felt 100% safe whether we were familiarising ourselves with our horses on the obstacle course, riding up and down steep hills, through the bush or along the beautiful beach. We fell in love with our horses, Ruby and Opal, and would have brought them home in a heartbeat if Jen and Jeremy would have parted with them! Our hostess at Bonny’s Inn, Teresa, was lovely. She made everyone feel like one big happy family and was so accommodating. All our meals – at the B&B, the restaurants and at Jen and Jeremy’s – were fabulous. We couldn’t have wished for better. We will be back!"

REBECCA CLEMMEY
"I really loved building a connection and understanding with my horse over the trip, starting with the obstacle course and daily groundwork, and culminating with flying down the beach."

KATHLEEN BARKER
"Riding the sweet and sure-footed ‘Twinkle’ along bush trails, beaches and in forests full of ferns and purple thistles were highlights!"

MARIA THYGESEN
"It was fabulous: location, hosts, accommodation and food and lucked out with an amazing group of riders, all women!"

JENNIFER WRAY
"Beach day was great – the freedom of a smaller group really added to it, but all the days were good."

CELIA CAMPBELL
"The Tassie Tiger Trail has got to be the best ride out there! Jen and Jeremy and their team of horses were an absolute pleasure to spend time with."

GAY LESKE
"It surpassed all expectations and as a single traveller this is definitely the way to see Australia and the world for that matter."

HELEN XUE
"The Tassie Tiger Trail was an absolute treat. You will be blown away by the hosts’ impeccable hospitality, the gourmet meals and the stunning landscape of the Apple Isle."

LUCINDA MURRAY
"The Tassie trip was FANTASTIC!! I had such a great time. The horse I rode was Derby – he was such a great horse, he really took care of me and all the horses were really well taken care of."

RACHEL BRIDGER
"A fabulous few days: delightful hosts, beautiful horses, interesting rides, gorgeous scenery and yummy food. Even the weather was kind. All over too soon."

  • What type of horses do you have?

All of our horses are Arab or Arab cross, fit and experienced trail and endurance horses. They are responsive and fun to ride but also
seasoned veterans in looking after our guests. They work well as a team and are happy and relaxed doing groundwork, riding the obstacle course, galloping or walking on a loose rein along the beach.

Tour sizes are small (between 5 and 8 riders) this allows us to personalise and customise the ride to suit everyone.

    • Comfortable riding pants ‐ riding tights or jodphurs are ideal, but or close fitting flexible pantsare fine.
